About Andy

A marketing background.
An education mindset.

I’m Andy Iredale, an independent consultant working across education marketing, digital learning and employer engagement.

Andy Iredale

Based on the Fylde coast. Working with education organisations and employers.

Connecting the bigger picture with the work that gets it done.

I began in communications agencies, working with brands including Yorkshire Bank, Ronseal, Mitre Sports, BT Mobile and Reebok. That grounding in audiences, messages and commercial priorities has stayed with me.

My move into education in 1993 led to marketing and director roles at Park Lane College, Preston College and Blackpool and The Fylde College. It gave me a first-hand understanding of the opportunities and pressures facing education leaders.

Through ARI Consult, I now work with schools, multi-academy trusts, colleges, universities, councils and employers on their marketing, digital learning and careers objectives.

A little beyond the job titles

Before my marketing career, I worked part-time in theatre in education, touring North West schools with Colin Skipp, the actor known for The Archers, who was also my teacher and voice coach. Helping an audience connect with a story has been a thread throughout my working life.

A voice in the room

Communication has always been part of the story.

From my early theatre work to agency life and education leadership, bringing people together around an idea has been a constant.

Sometimes that means shaping the words on a page. Sometimes it means picking up a microphone.

Life beyond the work

Learning runs
in the family.

This is us, watching the sunrise above the clouds in Madeira. A moment to pause, take it all in and feel very lucky.

My wife is a maths teacher, our eldest son teaches history, our youngest son is an accountant, and our daughter is specialising in coding and data analytics. Different interests, different perspectives. Plenty to learn from.

There has never been a greater need to keep learning. Technology moves quickly, careers change and new possibilities keep appearing. I see that in my work, but I also see it around our own table.

My family are a constant source of expertise and inspiration. They challenge my thinking, introduce me to new ideas and remind me that curiosity matters at every age.
